*Arts and Humanities Research Council awards in 2011*
In 2011 the German section at the University of Edinburgh expects to award
one AHRC PhD scholarship for doctoral research in German Studies or a
comparative topic involving German Studies.
Staff in the German section are able to supervise a wide range of topics,
including German-Jewish writing; German-Turkish writing; German literature and mental health as well as disabilities studies; travel/migration writing and cultural exchange; gender and masculinity studies; the Third Reich and Holocaust writing; theatre, film and censorship; GDR studies; Translation Studies; Medieval studies; 18th/19th century studies; literature of the early 20th century and post-1945 literature; myth and literature studies.
Our innovative Edinburgh German Yearbook, planned and edited within the section and published by Camden House in the USA, attracts high-profile academic contributors with their cutting-edge research.
