PG Room Share Opportunities for the WiGS Annual Conference (Durham)

Registration for the WiGS 27th annual conference in Durham (6-7 Nov) opened last week and we have already received several inquiries about accommodation and room sharing. In order to make the conference as economically viable for PG students as possible, we suggest that you consider sharing a room with another WiGS member for the duration of the conference.

If you are a PG student interested in sharing a room but cannot find a roommate, please email your name and contact details to our PG Representative Cyd Sturgess (gea08cjs@shef.ac.uk) by Oct 9. Cyd will then try to find you someone to share a room with and help you make contact with each other in order for you to reserve your accommodation.

There are many hotels around Durham City Centre of varying prices: the Premier Inn is central with regards to location (although around thirty minutes to walk to the conference location) and has a wide variety of room-types. The Durham Marriot Hotel Royal County is slightly closer to the conference venue, but is more expensive. booking.com currently has a special offer for certain room types for the Marriott, so this could be a good option. The Radisson Blu hotel is a little further to walk, but also has a wide variety of room types and may work out well if room-sharing is a possibility.

Please keep checking the WiGS blog for all the latest updates on the conference.
