Registration now open for 35th Annual WIGS Conference

3-4 November 2023, University of Exeter

Booking is now open for the annual WIGS conference, which this year travels to Exeter on the 3rd and 4th November.

The WIGS annual conference starts online with a keynote address from Dr Annie Ring on the evening of Thursday 2nd November. The conference proper convenes on Friday afternoon in Exeter city centre with a choice of workshops and the annual prizegiving ceremony. There will be a conference dinner on Friday evening. Saturday is devoted to a programme of papers and the annual general meeting, running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the main university campus. We attach the programme.

Bookings can be made through the University of Exeter shop at:

https://store.exeter.ac.uk/conferences-and-events/faculty-of-humanities-arts-and-social-sciences/languages-cultures-and-visual-studies/event/women-in-german-studies-35th-annual-conference

As usual, WIGS offers a range of options for attendance. It is possible to attend for both Friday and Saturday or just for one day. Online attendance of the Saturday papers is possible for a small fee. PGRs, ECAs on fractional and/or temporary contracts, and part-time and retired colleagues pay a concessionary rate. Full-time colleagues have the option of supporting PGRs and precarious members with a small additional donation.

The WIGS conference is a members-only conference this year. Please contact the Treasurer, Ina Linge (k.linge@exeter.ac.uk), if you would like to join WIGS. For information on subscriptions, see: https://womeningermanstudies.wordpress.com/join-us/.

We can make recommendations for an overnight stay, but in general Exeter has plenty of choice of rooms on the usual booking platforms.

We look forward to welcoming you to Exeter and/or to communicating with you online.
