Registration open: Reform & Revolt, WIGS Open Conference, 22-24 June 2017, St Edmund Hall, Oxford

Registration for this year’s Open Conference on the theme of Reform & Revolt at St Edmund Hall, University of Oxford (22-24 June 2017) is now open! Please register by completing the ONLINE BOOKING FORM.

The booking form will be open until 9 June. To help with planning, the organisers would be most grateful if you could register sooner rather than later.

The conference is open to both members of Women in German Studies and to non-members, male or female.

There is a discounted conference rate for postgraduate students and anybody without a permanent position (available on the online booking form). WIGS is also able to provide a contribution towards the travel costs of postgraduate members attending the conference. Please apply to the Treasurer, Caroline Bland (c.bland@sheffield.ac.uk), as soon as possible.

There is also a discounted ‘local’ conference rate for those wanting to pop in and out of the conference without having lunch.

Accommodation and PG room share opportunities: There is a limited number of rooms (single, shared facilities, priced £37.00) available on a first-come first-served basis in the conference venue, St Edmund Hall. Please email Sue McCarthy (susan.mccarthy@seh.ox.ac.uk) ASAP, with ‘WIGS conference’ in the header, in order to reserve a room. There is also a limited number of rooms available in St Hilda’s (single, shared facilities, priced £45.00) – please contact Nicola Thomas (nicola.thomas@st-hildas.ox.ac.uk) in order to arrange this. Otherwise, the Travelodge on Abingdon Road is reasonably priced, especially for shared rooms. If you are a PG student interested in sharing a room but cannot find a roommate, please contact the WIGS PG representative, Cyd Sturgess (gea08cjs@shef.ac.uk). Please ensure you contact Cyd at your earliest convenience to make sure it is possible to find you a roommate.
